Introducing Loch Fyne

Loch Fyne is Scotland's longest sea loch on the west coast of Scotland, curving gently inland through passing fishing villages, Royal Burgh's and the Crinan Canal entrance.

Today Loch Fyne is famous for it's shellfish, mainly langoustine, lobster, crab and oysters (hence the Loch Fyne Restuarants and Oyster Bar of the same name), but many years ago the loch was famous for herring, the village of Tarbert Loch Fyne playing an important part in the fishing industry, and still does to this day. Locations On Loch Fyne

There are several locations on the shores of Loch Fyne which include Tarbert, a popular village for whisky enthusiasts as it is the last stopping off point before the Islay ferry and the many distilleries there. Inveraray sits almost mid way on the western side of Loch Fyne and to the south lies Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig.

The east presents several more locations offering seafood fayre and accommodation in the form of a hotel, Loch Fyne views available at some hotels.
